"IN LIGHT OF THE MARGINS"
MERCY VOLUNTEERS FOR 2007-2008
Cincinnati:
The theme for our Mercy volunteers this year reminds us that those who live on the edges of society without the resources we take for granted are Jesus in disguise. When serving others we receive more than we give.
There are two volunteers giving a year of service in Cincinnati:
Mairead Conley graduated from Temple University in Philadelphia with a degree in Sociology before coming to Mercy Volunteer Corps. She is working at the HOME Program with low income elderly.
Karen Parkinson, from Macon, Missouri, graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a degree in Physics. She is working at Mercy Connections tutoring GED students and helping Latinos with English.
Renee Kettering and Sara Fledderjohn are from the Cincinnati area and giving a year of service with MVC. Renee is in Detroit teaching at Mercy Education Project. Sara is working in Philadelphia at Mercy Neighborhood Ministries.
Would you like to be part of a dynamic group of people who are making a difference in the world? You can, by joining Mercy Volunteer Corps. Give a year of service that will change your life! A preliminary application is available at: www.mercyvolunteers.org
