The DeSales Outreach H.O.M.E. Program for the Elderly

H.O.M.E. is a non-profit organization sponsored by the Sisters of Mercy. Sister Alice Marie Soete and Sister Mary Ann Fuerst are the co-founders of the program which began in 1976.

H...HELPING the elderly poor and people with special needs in the St. Francis de Sales neighborhood is the main goal of the HOME Program - House of Mercy Environment.

O...OPPORTUNITIES are available for our clients to receive help with money management, medical assistance, health care assistance, assistance with funerals and burials, improved housing and participation in celebrations and planned activities. Visitation, counseling and access to a food pantry are also aspects of the program. Mercy Professional Services provides an outreach therapist who goes into the homes of our elderly and counsels them.

M...MISSION of the HOME program is to respond to the Gospel of Jesus and the Direction statement of the Sisters of Mercy, by enhancing the quality of life of the elderly poor and people with special needs whose basic necessities of life are not being met by other existing agencies.

E...ENVIRONMENT of Mercy created by the staff is one of compassionate, loving care. The staff offers their gifts daily to one another and those they serve.
